Concrete Scanning

The newest addition to our operation is a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) machine that uses radio waves to detect hazards and objects embedded in concrete.

GPR scanning of concrete structures is a non-destructive, safe and accurate method to detect the following features and materials commonly found within concrete:

  • electrical conduits and cables;
  • water and gas pipes;
  • post tension cables;
  • rebar and structural beams;
  • mesh and steel;
  • deterioration; and
  • voids.

GPR can also be used to measure the thickness of concrete structures to a depth of 500mm.

Utilising this service can help determine a clear path for any proposed cutting, coring or drilling and can greatly reduce the likelihood of damaging or disrupting any services or materials located within the concrete.
